DOT BRATTON DIES

Dot Bratton was born in 1866, in Searcy county, Arkansas, a son of John and Elinor Bratton. He died in Thayer at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. F. Fickie, December 20, 1941, aged 75 years.

Mr. Bratton spent his entire life in Searcy county, Ark., until four years ago when he came to make his home with his daughter in Thayer. For a number of years he was engaged in farming, later he was a successful building contractor and was also a partner in a ferry across the Buffalo river.

He was affiliated with the Methodist church and was a member of the Masonic lodge, also the Woodmen of the World.

In 1886 he was united in marriage to Miss Tennessee Griffin and to this union six children were born. Three preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W. F. Fickie, of Thayer and Mrs. Dale Arney of Bristow, Okla. and one son, Raymond Bratton, also of Bristow. He is also survived by two brothers and five sisters and ten grand-children.

Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon by Rev. Robert Hopkins at the Carr chapel and burial was made in Thayer cemetery under the direction of Carr's Funeral service.
