Dullie was born in Cleveland County, NC on September 29, 1919, where she lived until moving to Charlotte in 1960.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, George, and her first-born grandchild, Stephen Caskey.
Dullie was a perfectionist who believed a job worth doing was worth doing well. Her greatest joy came from being with and doing for her family and all those who became a part of her extended family. She provided a warm, welcoming environment for all who came into her home. There was always friendship and good food - often freshly picked from George's garden. She was a master seamstress who could turn a piece of fabric into a designer-quality garment.
She will be remembered for her spirituality, her irreproachable integrity, her love of family, her kindness and gratitude to others, and her quick wit even in her final days of life. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include daughters, Carole Carlson and husband Lyndon of Crystal, MN, Jane Caskey and husband Harold of Columbia, SC, and Patsy Moss and companion Edward Kelliher of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Tonya Carlson Eide (Steve) of Villa Hills, KY, Georganna Caskey Martin (Robbie) of Columbia, SC, Lyn Carlson Jr. (Shawn) of Becker, MN, and Philip Carlson of Crystal, MN; five great-granddaughters; three great grandsons; a brother, D.C. DeVenny of Cherryville, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 28, 4 p.m. at Capernaum Cemetery in Waco, NC.
