Mr. Baxter

Dewey Prescott Baxter, 86, of Austell, died recently.

Mr. Baxter was formerly employed with the Lockheed Aeronauthical Systems Company and was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Vealla Gamel Baxter.

Surviving are four daughters, Imadean Hunter, Powder Springs; Nell Rooks, Marietta; Lorene Mann and Joan Waddell, both of Powder Springs; four sons, B.P. "Ben" Baxter, Douglasville; Hubert Baxter, Dallas, Lowell Baxter, Marietta; and Eugene Baxter, Rockmart; four sisters, Josie Mitchell, Annie Gurley and Elsie Cochran, all of Dallas; and Bertha Gazaway, Austell. Twenty-two grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home in Dallas with Rev. J. E. Wix officiating. Burial was in the Yorkville Cemetery.
