Tuesday, June 12, 1917 The two-year-old son of Cook Alford died of infantile troubles and was buried at Pleasant Point Sunday afternoon after funeral services by Rev. J. A. Singleton.

Friday, June 15, 1917 The Death Angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Alford last Saturday morning, June 9th and took from them their little son, Herman, which saddened the hearts of the rest of the family very much. But the Lord doeth all things well and blessed be the name of the Lord.
