Daughter of James Rightmire(1779-1863) & Elizabeth Daugherty(1780-1850)
Wife of David Harrod(1806-1855)

Neva Hiller, who is the daughter of Uncle Will Bienz, the oldest brother to Charles Martin Bienz, told Louie Mae Bienz (Emil Anderson) the second oldest of Charles Martin Bienz's daughters, that in 1855 "Gr Grandfather Harrod and a number of neighbors set out by boat from Cincinnati, Ohio, traveling on the Ohio, Mississippi and Missouri Rivers to Kansas to buy land for each of his nine living children. The mission was not completed because of "yellow fever" and that "Gr. Grandfather died". Another source stated that he died of Cholera on the 23rd of May, 1855 (#2). He was then 43 years of age. He had $1800 in his possession which was brought back and given to Jane. Mr. Jess King represented all of the David Harrod children in court when Jesse Harrod, a brother to David Harrod, took them to court to claim that David had contracted with him so he could buy some of David's lands before David had died of Cholera. Documents did not specify the outcome of the dispute.(#4)
