Barbara Jean Stubbs, 52, of Cameron, MO, formerly of Kearney, MO passed away Monday February 23, 2009 at her home.
Born April 26, 1956 in Elizabeth, NJ she was the daughter of Homer and Gertrude Mary (Lear) Layton. On April 23, 2004 in Excelsior Springs, MO she was married to Kevin Ray Stubbs who survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Julia Lenz and husband Brian of Liberty MO, Jennifer Schoemaker and Randy McNeary of Kearney MO, Jessica Bruhn and husband Victor of Cameron, Joyce Mumm and husband Dustin of Trimble MO and Nicole Stubbs of the home; 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Calli, Victoria, Malea, Jillian, Avery and Hunter; 2 step-grandchildren, Dylan and Cheyenne as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Barbara was a registered nurse and had been employed by Excelsior Springs Medical Center. She enjoyed hunting and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Bible Baptist Church in Cameron.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 27, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Polley Funeral Home in Lawson, MO. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery at Hamilton MO. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
