Dorothy Landis, 85, of Boiling Springs, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Lewis D. and Beulah K. Goodman Foltz, she was born on August 19, 1923 in Juniata County.
Mrs. Landis had been employed at the former McCoy Electronics and Capitol Products. She also had assisted her husband on the family dairy farm for over 40 years.
She was a member of Farm Women Group #13 and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #8851, Boiling Springs.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Deanna Marie Landis, a great grandson: Tyler Shope and three brothers.
Surviving are her husband: Ferman Landis; a daughter: Lou Ann Shope of Shermans Dale; a son: Donald Landis of Greensburg, Pa; a sister: Beulah F. Reynolds of Port Royal, Pa; seven grandchildren: Mary Ingram, Robert Landis, Paul Landis, Dawn Ann Knisely, Jason Landis, Dennis Shope, Jr., and Justin Shope; seven great grandchildren: Jared Knisely, Amanda George, Seth Landis, Ryker Knisely, Kyler Knisely, Kayla Landis and Brandon Shope and a great great granddaugher: Madison Knisely.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Art Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens.
