Charles W. Foltz, 81, 1009 Town Lane. Port Royal, died Saturday morning, May 30, 1998 at his home in Port Royal,

Born April l3, 1917 in Turbett Township, Juniata County he was a son of the late Lewis Foltz and Beulah K. (Goodman) Foltz.

His first wife, P. Ruth (Ernest) Foltz died September 2, 1988. His second wife, Verna (Sheaffer) Hostettler Armstrong Foltz, resides in the Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC67, Mifflin, PA.

Also surviving are three sons, C. Ernest Foltz of Dillsburg, Dennis P. Foltz of Port Royal and Philip L. Foltz of Port Royal; a daughter, Jedda C. Smith of RR.3 Port Royal; step children, Mrs. Guy (Gloria) Musick of Scotland, PA, and John Hostettler of Shenandoah, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Furman (Dorothy) Landis of Boiling Springs, Mrs. William (Beulah) Reynolds of Port Royal; nine grandchildren; five great-grand- children; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were: one son, Norman L. Foltz on March 7, 1946; and two brothers" Ray Foltz and William Foltz.

He was a 1936 graduate of Port Royal High School.

Mr. Foltz was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.

He was owner and operator of Foltz Community Store, Port Royal for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1985.

Mr. Foltz was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church where he served several terms on the church council.

He was a lifetime member of the Port Royal Ambulance Service with twenty-five years of service. He was a member and Past Master of Union Lodge #325, F&AM, Mifflintown; Zembo Shrine, Temple of Harrisburg.

Mr. Foltz was a member of: the Turbett Grange #781; Port Royal Lions Club for 40 years; a member of the New Church Hill Cemetery Association for 30 years and president of the cemetery for 20 years.

He was a past member of the Advisory Board of the Juniata Valley Bank, Port Royal; also past board member of the Juniata County Board of Assistance, Mifflintown; past board member of Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC-67, Mifflin. He was a former school board member of the Tuscarora Valley School Board, Port Royal, PA.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, June 3 at Rex Funeral Home, 308 Market St., Port Royal, with the Rev. Donald E. Bailor Sr. obviating. Interment will follow in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

Masonic Services were conducted Tuesday evening at Rex Funeral Home.
