Pearlie Mae Turner Lewis, 94, of Brunswick, died Wednesday (June 8, 2005) at the Forum Health Care in Brunswick after a long illness. A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of George Monroe and Janie Teston Turner. She was a member of Hickox Baptist Church and was a very faithful member before her health failed. She was a homemaker and will be remembered for her great cooking, as a dear mother, grandmother and a loving helpmate for her husband, Fred Knox Lewis, who died in 1988, said a family friend. Her grandson, Michael Brooker, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene D. and Gladys Lewis, of Brunswick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie Faye and Ken Kribbs, of Brunswick, and Rita B. and Bill Morgan, of Dalton; seven grandchildren, Glenn Lewis, of Brunswick, Danny Lewis (Mary), of Waynesville, Dennis Lewis (Lorrie), Randy Lewis (Sunghui) and Jimmy Hendrix (Leatrice), all of Brunswick, Tim Brooker, of Savannah, and Ronnie Brooker (Joanie), of Brunswick; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Millie Turner, of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Chambless-Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 in the chapel at Chambless-Frye Funeral Home with Dr. W. Derrell Rentz officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jim Hendrix, Tim and Ronnie Brooker and Glenn, Danny and Randy Lewis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery near Waycross. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles or to Hickox Baptist Church. Arrangements are with Chambless-Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta.
