Obituary - Cyrus W. Robbins, 77 years of age, who was for many years a prominent resident of Box Elder County, died early this morning in a local hospital. Mr. Robbins was born in West Bromwich, England on October 5, 1849, a son of Edward R. and Agnes McCallister Robbins.

In 1855 he was brought to Utah with L.D.S. converts. He lived in Snowville for 45 years, coming to Ogden in 1921. Mr. Robbins took part in the Black Hawk War, freighted by ox team between Utah, Idaho, and Montana trading centers and worked on the construction of the Central Pacific railroad. During his career in church work he was a ward teacher for 50 years and for a time was Sunday school superintendent. At the time of death he was a member of the high council of Curlew Stake.

Surviving are 10 sons and daughters: Mrs. James P. Wallwork, Mrs. James Huntley, Joseph Robbins, Mrs. Harry Whitaker, Mrs. Roscoe J. Anderson, Charles Robbins, and Mrs. Ralph Treseder, all of Ogden; Mrs. H. G. Erickson of Redding, Calif.; Mrs. Aaron Andreason of Printon, Utah; Mrs. Chester Wood of San Rafael, Calif. There are also 43 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
