Annie Statira McGary was born on 5 September 1867 in Chappell Hill, Texas, to Maj Daniel Leonidas McGary and Martha Jane Summers. Her twin brother, Atreus McGary, was stillborn. Annie married Eugene Harrison Baker, a gambler and saloon keeper, 1885, in Seguin, Texas. Their children were Vibella, Lee, Raymond, and Eugene Baker. The Baker family lived in Clayton, New Mexico, and Fall River County, South Dakota, before returning to Texas. Soon after their last child was born, Eugene and Annie were divorced. Annie's last residence was at 631 Turner Avenue in Dallas, Texas, where she lived with her son and attended the Methodist Church. She died, 2 March 1949, aged 81, in Dallas and was buried three days later at Restland Memorial Park.
