Joe B. Austin, 73, of 7944 India Ave., passed away Tuesday. He was a native of Offerman, GA., and had lived here since he came to Jacksonville 48 years ago from Jasper, FL. He was a retired yard conductor with the Jacksonville Terminal. Mr. Austin was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Survivors include his wife, Mrs Loy Austin; two sons, Grady S. and Joe L. Austin; a sister, Mrs. J. Marvin Sweat; and seven grandchildren. Services at 2 P.M. Thursday in Giddens-Griffith Southside Chapel, 6940 Atlantic Blvd. with Rev. James H. Branch officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
