CAIRO-Funeral services for William Leonard Thompson, 87, of Cairo, are to be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 1985 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Revs. Hugh Lee Brinkley and Mack Luke will officiate, and burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery with Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson died Dec. 19, 1985, at his residence. A retired farmer, he was born in Meriwether County.
On Sept. 18, 1929, he married the former Bessie Cooper who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Thompson McGraw, Cairo; a son, Jerry Thompson, Cairo; two sisters, Louise Norton, Meigs, and Ruby Gordon, Melbourne, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
