MRS. CORA E. SCHUMM, 87, wife of Louis F. Schumm of Willshire, O., died at 11:20 a.m. Monday at the Van Wert Ohio, county hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days.
Born in Willshire township, Van Wert County, March 18, 1884, she was the daughter of Jacob L. And Mary T. Strickler-Roop, and was married to Louis F. Schumm April 5, 1913. The celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1963. She attended the Fort Wayne Business school and was later employed by S. F. Bowser Co. She attended Willshire area churches regularly.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Rev. Robert W. Schumm of Dixon, Ill., Elbert R. Schumm of Rockford, Ohio, route 1, and Rev. Herbert I. Schumm of North Andover, Mass., one daughter, Miss Mary Elizabeth Schumm of Willshire, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One sister and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday (Ohio time) at Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Schuler officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Schumm, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of the service.
