George is the son of Robert Layton and Margaret E. Bartch Albin. He married Flora Belle Watkins on Dec. 30, 1896 in Hickory Point Township, Macon County, IL.
They had five children: James Robert Albin, Mrs. Gladys Belle Michael, Orville Raymond Albin, Irvin Otis Albin and Mrs. Ruby Bernice Morthland.

George raised their family and farmed in Hickory Point and Illini Townships.
