Funeral services for Lanny Dee Collins, Sr., age 49, of Frisco, formerly of Honey Grove, who died Sunday, Jan 17, 1993 at his residence, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, at First Baptist Church of Honey Grove. Dr. James Wicker, Dr. Bobby Holt and the Rev. Bill Beasley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Wood Cemetery.
Mr. Collins was born on Feb. 26, 1943 in Honey Grove, the son of Weldon Landrum Collins and Anna Barnett Collins.
He married Scharlet Mauldin on Sept. 20, 1986 in Bonham.
He previously was married to Carol Sisco.
Mr. Collins was a groceryman and a member of First Baptist Church of Frisco.
Survivors include his wife, Scharlet Collins of the home; sons, Larry D. Collins of Allen, Mark D. Collins of Stephenville, Don G. Mauldin and John C. Mauldin, both of Frisco; mother, Anna Collins of Honey Grove; five grandchildren; sister, Deanna Collins of Honey Grove; brothers, Buster Collins and Chris Collins, both of Honey Grove; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his father, Weldon Collins, on Jan. 18, 1985.
Members of Kingdom Builders Sunday School Class will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be tonight from 7 until 8 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home of Honey Grove.
