Charles M. Sands
RENSSELAER -- Charles Martin Sands, 90, of 403 E. Scott St., Rensselaer, died at 12:35 p.m. Monday in Jasper County Hospital after being in declining health for a year.
Mr. Sands, a lawyer, was born in Jasper County and had been a life-time resident. He graduated in 1906 from Indiana University Law School. In 1906 he married at Chicago, Ill. to Maude Anna McBee, who survives. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving with the widow are a son, Charles Dudley Sands of Tecumseh, Mo.; and one daughter, Mrs. Preston (Barbara) Henry of Rensselaer.

SANDS, Charles Martin -- Friends may call at Jackson Funeral Chapel, Rensselaer, after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Jackson Chapel, the Rev. L. Wayne Smith officiating. Interment Weston Cemetery. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Two sons and eight brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Both the Obituary and Funeral Notice were published in the Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN), on Tuesday, August 1, 1972, pg. 4.
