Mary Sedalis and Alonzo also had a son Harmon Nelton (H.N.) Burge Sonier (#164018465) who was adopted by her sister Emma Lee and her husband Raymond Sonier when he was very young. Sedalis had been injured in a fire and it is believed that her sister took the baby to care for him due to her injuries. Emma was unable to have children of her own, it is said that the only stipulation to her caring for H.N. was that they be able to adopt him. (This story was told to us by Eddy Paul Burge, youngest son of Mary Sedalis and Alonzo on 24 June 2016)


As of 24 June 2016 only one of Mary Sedalis' children was still alive. Eddy Paul Burge b. 11 May 1930 in Vinton, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana)
