Harley M. Felker, age 78, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Friday morning, May 14, 2004 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. He was born December 7, 1925 at St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Harley S. and Anna Marie Gundling Felker. He was united in marriage on September 3, 1944 in Atchison, Kansas with Barbara Jean Green, who survives of the home. Mr. Felker was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration and served in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Fellowship of Excitement Church in Lenexa, Kansas, served 9 years as Commissioner of the Gravois Mills Special Road District, was past president of the Twin Island Fishing Club and past president of the 5-33 Crime Watch. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Terry L. Felker and wife Esca, of Lenexa, KS, Tim L. Felker, and Kevyn B. Felker and wife Denise, of Joliet, IL; three daughters, Robyne D. Snyder and husband Chad, of Chanute, KS, Pamela Poston and husband Rick, of Shelby, NC, and Sandra Homesley of Cherryville, NC; one brother, Raymond Felker of Savannah, MO; two sisters, Willette Reeder of Gladstone, MO, and Marie O'Neal of St. Joseph, MO; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, George Edward Felker, and three sisters, Jean Smith, Josephine Sipe and Mildred Bunch. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Meierhoffer Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph, with Rev. David St. John officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery in St. Joseph. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Meierhoffer Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph.
