A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 16, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 3719 Pinetop Road, followed by a graveside service with military honors at Guilford Memorial Gardens on High Point Road.
Robert was born November 17, 1929, to the late Charles L. Coble, Sr. and Julia Osborne Coble in Greensboro, N.C. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We've lost a loving father, a quiet leader, humble servant and one always working outside of the limelight, but the Lord has gained a faithful worker for eternity. In addition he is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served his country honorably in World War II and as a Marine Corps Reserve in the Korean War. Robert retired from AT&T after 36 years of service.
Preceding him in death are his brothers, C.L. Coble and Earnest Coble and sisters, Ruth C. Pegram and Helen C. Harris, and the mother of his children, Lucille Coble Warden.
Mr. Coble is survived by a son, Robert C. Coble, Jr., of Walnut Cove; daughter, Sherry C. Bargoil and son-in-law, Richard Bargoil, of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Matthew Coble, Anthony Jones, Meredith Jones, Katie Bargoil, Amanda Bargoil; three great-grandchildren, Ivy, Emma and Lily Jones; special nephew, Ronald Harris, and other nieces and nephews.
