She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Lumas Linwood and Francis Price Eason.
Mrs. Withers was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 32 years, Gary Eugene Withers Sr.
Mrs. Withers was a former Sales Counselor with Gaston Memorial Park and retired as Office Manager of Westview Gardens in 2006. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of Lincolnton. She was a loving mother, great friend and will truly be missed by all that knew her.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Interim Hospice of Rock Hill for the kindness, love and care shown to our Mother during her illness.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra W. Blackburn and companion Shawn Hux, Karen W. Dillman and husband Todd of Dallas, Bridget W. Whitesides and husband Mark of York; one son, Gary E. Withers Jr. and fiance, Marion Coffey of Dallas; three brothers, Bruce Eason of Washington state, David Eason of Gastonia, Charles Eason of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Gloria Wynn and husband John of Clover; seven grandchildren, Jeff Freeman and wife Kelly of Crouse, David Blackburn, Heather Meadows and Jonathan Withers of Dallas, Sierra Whitesides of Belmont, Chelsea Bowles and John Whitesides Jr. of York; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with the Revs. Bryan Curry and Tom Tucker officiating. Inurnment will be at The Mausoleum of Peace at Gaston Memorial Park following the memorial service.
