Died at her home in this city, Wednesday morning, December 19, Mrs. Marian Walraven, following a very short illness, Mrs. Walraven was only sick a few hours. The obituary will be printed in next weeks Banner.

MRS. THOS. B. WALRAVEN
Mrs. Marian Walraven, who died at her home in Oak Grove Wednesday morning of last week, was 78 years of age, having been born in Lexington, Kentucky on January twentieth, eighteen forty-five. Her maiden name was Chadwell. Mrs. Walraven came to Lexington, Missouri, with her parents when quite young. She was converted and united with the Baptist church when fourteen years of age, but to be with her husband later changing her membership to the Presbyterian Church. She was married to Thos. B. Walraven in 1863. To this union nine children were born, six of whom are yet living—John Walraven, Mrs. Hattie Gillespie, Mrs. Walter Lane of Independence, Edward and Frank Walraven and Miss Alma Walraven of Oak Grove, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Ida M. Day of Bates City. Besides these; she leaves a brother, W.B. Chadwell of Pomona, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Herrington of Oak Grove. Her husband Thos. B. Walraven, passed away several years ago. Before coming to this city the Walraven family made their home in the Pleasant Prairie neighborhood. She was one of this section's splendid women and her loss will be mourned by many. The funeral was preached at the Baptist Church last Friday by the pastor, Rev. Cox and the interment occurred at the Oak Grove cemetery.
