Obit, Leader Vindicator, 1927: William Mearle Barlett was born in Porter township, Clarion county, November 30, 1911, and died May 28, 1927 at the home of his parents in Porter township, aged 15 years, 5 months and 20 days. The cause of death was appendicitis. William was a son of James P. and Minnie (Alleman) Barlett. He is survived by his parents and by three brothers and one sister, namely, Ira E. of Tarentum, Charles Earl, Claire Pearl and Ruth Fay at home. Deceased was a member of the Leatherwood Presbyterian church at which place funeral services were held on Monday of this week at 10:00 a.m. and were conducted by his pastor, Rev. R. E. Keirn, assisted by Rev. W. L. Price of Shannondale. Interment under the direction of Chas. W. White was made in the Leatherwood cemetery.
