C. Earl Barlett, 82, of Cottage Hill, RD3 New Bethlehem, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 1994, at his home. Born November 30, 1911, in Leatherwood, Porter Township, Clarion County, he was a son of James Parks and Minnie Eve Allaman Barlett. He was married to O. Maxine Blair on January 25, 1933, and she survives. Mr. Barlett owned and operated Barlett's Store in Cottage Hill for 60 years. He also was a self-employed electrician. He was a member of the Leatherwood Church, the Leatherwood Anti-Horse Thief Association and the Bee Keepers Association. In addition to his wife, Mr. Barlett is survived by two sons, James E. Barlett of Slippery Rock and Ray A. Barlett of Sligo; two daughters, Darlene (Mrs. George) Smith of Rimersburg and Cheryl (Mrs. William) Fuller of New Bethlehem; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clair P. Barlett of Findleyville. Mr. Barlett was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Mearl Barlett; another brother, Ira Barlett; a sister, Ruth Champion; and a granddaughter, Leanne Smith. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19, in the Leatherwood church. The Rev. Floyd Jeffcoat, church pastor, officiated. Burial was in Leatherwood Cemetery, Porter Township, Clarion County. The Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn was in charge of arrangements.
