MAGEE, Miss. (Special) — Services for Joe L. Bishop, 82, are set for 2 pm. Thursday at Goshen Baptist Church with burial in Magee Cemetery. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in charge.

Bishop, a lifelong Simpson County resident and a retired farmer, died Tuesday at a Magee nursing home after a long illness.

He was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Billy Bishop of Sanatorium, Henry Bishop of Cleveland, Boyd Bishop of Jackson, and Troy Bishop of Magee; six daughters, Mrs. Ruby Yelverton of Taylorsville, Mrs. Willie Lois Benton, Mrs. Thelma Benton, and Mrs. Jewel White, all of Jackson, Mrs. Bonnie Clark of Bassfield and Mrs. Jo Ann King of New Orleans, La.; two brothers, Rev. T. W. Bishop and J. R. Bishop, both of Magee; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
