She was the daughter of Alexander (b. 1822-d. 1895) and Sarah Ann (Stockton) Tow (b. 1827-d. 1895).

She married Noah Halbert Adams (b. 1847-d. 1920) on October 25, 1868 at Masters Community in Cedar County, Missouri. He was the son of Levi Franklin (b. 1824-d. 1898) and Nancy Jane (Warner) Adams (b. 1828-d. 1889).
