Funeral services were held Thursday for Alonzo Irving Worsham, 63 year old city marshal of Prairie City, at the Prairie City Methodist church.
Mr. Worsham died of "natural causes" while in bed Monday.
He was seen in downtown Prairie City earlier in the day, but apparently felt ill and went home to bed, residents said.
Prairie City Mayor Ernest Kimberling expressed deep regret over Worsham's dead and said a special council meeting would probably be held Monday night to select a successor.
