Born in Germany in 1834 to Antony and Marie Kabaerl Einhellig. Jacob Einhellig immigrated April 1848 from Bremen Germany aboard the Johan George to the United States in early manhood, and for several years followed the carpenter's trade in Pennsylvania. He married Christina Mansnest around 1855 in Illinois. Coming to Wyandotte county, Kansas, in 1875, he bought one hundred and sixty acres of land in Bonner Springs, and on the farm which he cleared and improved spent his remaining days, dying in 1906. Jacob and Christina are both buried in the Maywood Cemetery in Wyandotte County, Kansas.

Jacob and Christina were the parents of Mary Einhellig(1858-1901), Catharine "Katie" Einhellig(1860-1887), Christine Einhellig(1862-1901), Josephine Einhellig Ellis(1864-1890), Elizabeth "Lizzie" Einhellig McKenzie(1866-1930), Jacob P Einhellig(1867-1944), Matilda Einhellig(1868-unk), Hattie Adelia Einhellig(1873-1908), Frank Einhellig(1873-1905), Nellie A Einhellig(1876-1892), William Edward "Eddie" Einhellig(1877-1923) and Nettie Einhellig(1881-1907).
