CSA: Assigned to CO. I, 57th Ga Vol. Infantry (Laurens/Wilkinson county) "Barkuloo Rifles'as a Pvt. May 3, 1862. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. 7-4-1863. Wounded in side and Knee, feet frost-bitten. Exchanged 9- 1863.

MR. ADES (AIDS) DEAD. Was a Highly Esteemed Citizen of South Macon.
Daniel Ades (Aids) died at his home on Reid Street, South Macon, yesterday after an illness of several weeks. He leaves a wife and eight children.
Mr. Ades (Aids) was a Confederate veteran, and the South had no braver of more valiant defender that he. He belonged to Company I of the Fifty-ninth Georgia. He was a man of high character, and was greatly esteemed by all who knew him. Before coming to Macon, he was a prominent planter in Wilkinson county.
The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The service will be conducted by Rev. T. J. Nease. The interment will be at Cedar Ridge cemetery.

*John Franklin (~1861-1950)
*Daniel Webster (1861-1852; who married Minnie Oxley (1874-1954;(both buried in Cedar Ridge Cemetery).
*Susan Elizabeth (1864-~1905/1906) who married John Augustus Bloodworth (born 1864). Their last resting places are unknown. Their daughter Hattie Bloodworth Harper is buried in Cedar Ridge Cemetery.
*Martha (born ~1867)
*Henry (born ~1869, died before 1917)
*Augustus (1870-?)
*Wiley (born ~1873)

Gravesite Details

Plot 2F8 is most probably the resting place for both Rebecca and Daniel Sr. Based upon the Ards plot map in the Washington library. All the other Aids/Aides/Ades plots are acounted for by number of records deaths/obits/ Death certs.
