Graveside services for Wilson Barton, 93, of Flomot will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at East Mound Cemetery in Matador with Wilburn Martin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Barton was born August 18, 1915 in Motley County to A.L. Barton and Addie Bishop Barton. He passed away Monday February 9, 2009 in Childress, TX.
He married Sibyl Scaff friend and companion December 3, 1939. They were married for 57 years. She preceded him in death August 15, 1996. He is also preceded in death by sisters Kathryn King, Leora Scrivner, and one brother Dick Barton.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Janna Turner of Turkey and Donnie Turner of Flomot.
He was a lifelong member of the community, where he farmed and ranched. Mr Barton was a self-taught man in multiple skills and trades. He played a large role in wiring many houses when electricity was first introduced to the area.
