Clydie Elmer Pittman, the youngest son of Frank and Anna Langley Pittman, was born at Success, Missouri on July 31, 1904 and died Decenber 20, 1971 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital at Houston Missouri, making his age 67 years, 4 months and 21 days.
He was united in marriage to Neva Smith in 1930 and to this union three sons wre born; Duane Lee of Houston, Dwight Keith and Dale Travis both of Success.
Others surviving are six grandchildren, one great grandchild, 11 step grand children, two sisters, Eva Harper and Delia Neal of Success; two brothers , Homer of success and Everett of Houton; one half-sister, Oma Rodman of Mtn. Grove and one haf-brother, Harvey McCoy of Success.
Mr. Pittman spent his entire life in the Success community. In his earlier years, he will be remembered as on of the best semi-pro baseball pitchers in the area. He had the strength and abilty to play baseball and was known for his high, hard pitch.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 21 at the Success Baptist Mission with the Rev. George Bryant officiating. Burial was in the C. T. Smith Cemetery under the direction of the Evans-Elliott Funeral Home.
