Ina Jensen, 86, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2009 at the Crestwood Care Center in Ogden, Utah.

Ina was born February 18, 1922 in Fairview, Idaho to Ettna E. and Lottie Rawlings Gilbert.

She married Kenneth L. Evans on May 17, 1940 in Downey, Idaho. She later married Henry P. Jensen on June 17, 1966 in Riverton, Utah. Henry and Ina were later sealed in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple on August 10, 2002.

She was active in many church callings throughout her life. Ina spent her childhood on a farm with seven other siblings in Virginia, Idaho. She learned to work hard at an early age. Her love of nature and the outdoors began there.

Later in life as a single mother she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah with her two surviving children-losing one son at birth. After marrying Henry, she lived in Riverton. She retired from BP Amoco as a price analyst shortly after their marriage. She loved to travel and after retiring made a world trip with Henry-one of the highlights of her life.

After Henry's passing in 1997, she moved to Ogden to be close to her daughter, Lauralee. In Ogden, she enjoyed another highlight of her life, her family -especially the great-grandchildren. With courage and help from Heavenly Father she was able to persevere through many trials in life.

She instilled a love of education in her children who both graduated from college. She found a sense of strength from nature. She put energy in everything she did and was very talented in whatever she attempted. Although she was plagued by many health problems late in life-including losing her sight, she never gave up living and loving those around her.

Ina is survived by her daughter, Lauralee (Harlan) Schmitt of Ogden; sisters Viona Bennett and Norma Warth; brother Ervin Gilbert; six grandsons Jon, Jeff, Marc and Scott Schmitt and Arimo and Mathew Evans; and five great-grandchildren Hannah, Cambri, Jacob, Landon and Emma Schmitt. Preceded in death by her husband Henry, son Kenneth, son Laurence, and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 5161 South 1300 East, South Ogden, Utah. A viewing prior to the services will be held at the Chapel from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Also, a viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary on Thursday evening, February 12th from 6-8 p.m. (845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden.
