He was born June 5, 1923 to Samuel and Leila Hendrix Crews and was a lifelong resident of Charlton County. Survivors include two sisters: Geraldine Jones and Idell Elder, both of Winokur; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elsie Mosley Crews. The family will receive friends today, 6 until 9 p.m., at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Winokur Baptist Church with the Rev. Reginald Herrin and the Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
