Her obituary in the Albuquerque Journal published 2 April 1986 reads: "Grace Ogden Blount, widow of O. T. Blount, passed away in Las Cruces, April 1st. She was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, August 1, 1894. Mrs. Blount was graduated from Berea College, Berea, Kentucky, where she was a teacher in 1918 and 1919. She also attended the University of New Mexico as a graduate student 1926-27. The Blounts came to Albuquerque from Kentucky in 1920. They were charter members of the Monte Vista Christian Church, where Mrs. Blount taught Sunday School and Christian Endeavor for many years. She was an active member of the Women of the Church, the Keystone Class, and United Church Women. Survivors include her two daughters, Sara Jane Gibson and her husband, Charles, Las Cruces, NM, Lara June Reed and her husband John, Albuquerque; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren." Grace was the ninth of ten children of Arthur Fox Ogden and Lorella Jane Trisler Ogden of Barterville, Nicholas Co., Kentucky. Grace taught school in Nicholas Co., Kentucky in 1913 through 1915 prior to going to Berea College. She also attended Eastern Kentucky Normal College in Richmond, Kentucky in early 1913. She married Ollie Trigg Blount "O.T." on 24 December 1919 in Kentucky (per announcement in Lexington Herald on 28 Dec. 1919).
