Son of Anna Maria (Riedel)and Franz B. Brungardt. Married Katharina Dreiling Nov 15, 1867. They came over on the SS Mosel in 1876 with their 3 children in tow: Franziskus, Alexander, and Michael. After they arrived, they had 6 more children of their own: Katharina, Margaretha, Maria (first, dy), Maria (second), Balthasar (first, dy), and Balthasar (second, who became a doctor). They also adopted 4 children: Daniel Sullivan, Mary Gilbert, Helen Sharp, Antonette Mengini.
