Veronica Markway, 78, Jefferson City, died Friday at her home. She was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Linn, a daughter of Peter and Catherine Schroeder Maasen. She was married May 12, 1934, in Jefferson City to Paul A. Markway, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Ann's Sodality, the Legion of Mary and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Other survivors include: one son, James A. Markway, Shawnee, Kan.; two sisters, Clara Paschal, Linn, and Regina Paden, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One daughter, Jeannine Hohenstreet, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Henry Reichert will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
