Josephine "Josie" Elizabeth Gartman was the fourth born child of James Sechrist and Mary Laws Sechrist. She had 14 siblings. Josie and her parents and familys came from Cabool Mo. to Erath Co Texas in 1879 by wagon train when she was one year old. Her paternal grandmother Mary Hepler Sechrist who was on the wagon train to Texas passed away, just before they reached Erath Co Tx. She was buried at Lipan Tx. And the familys traveled on to Erath Co.
Josie married Jacob Gartman. The family moved To Oklahoma when they left Texas.
