The death of Miss Sarah E. Marsh took place at her home, No. 59 Susquehanna avenue at 1 o'clock, Friday morning, of heart trouble and other complications her illness having extended over a considerable period of time.  Miss Marsh was born in the town of Middlefield and was the daughter of James and Sarah (Bradley) Marsh of that town.  She was eighty years, three months and one day old and had resided in this village and in the house in which she died for the past forty years.  She was a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal church and very active in its work while her health permitted, and many friends will feel deep regret at her loss to the community.  The nearest surviving relatives are three half nieces, Mrs. George H. White and Mrs. W. C. Fowler of Cooperstown and Mrs. Arthur Borst of Oneonta.  The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at her residence, the Rev. E. Bohne-Echolt officiating with interment at Middlefield cemetery."  ["The Freeman's Journal and The Oneonta Press" (Cooperstown, NY), Aug. 22, 1923, Page 4]
