Otsego County Farmer newspaper Dec 20, 1907 obit for Mrs. Wendell Moak:
"Mrs. Wendell Moak of Syracuse died at the Bliss Hospital at Oneonta Thursday afternoon
of last week, from Bright's disease. She had been an inmate of the hospital for about two months, receiving treatment for cancer, and had been making favorable progress toward recovery when the fatal ailment developed in acute form and caused her death. The body was removed to the home of her niece, Mrs. A. C. Borst, where the funeral services were held Saturday. Mrs. Moak was a daughter of the late James and Sarah Marsh and was born in New York City, her maiden name being Anna Marsh. Her life was passed in Middlefield and Otsego townships until about twenty years ago, when, with her husband, Wendell Moak, to whom she was married in 1861, she removed to Syracuse. There they since resided. She is survived by one brother, John Marsh of Cooperstown, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Eckler of Middlefield, and Miss Sarah Marsh of Cooperstown. Mrs.
Moak had, for many years, been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was a woman held in high esteem by all who knew her."
