John W Morse-obituary
The funeral of the late J.W. Morse will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the family residence, Seventeenth street and Third avenue. Rev. M. P. McClure of the First Presbyterian church will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Morse was born October 26, 1834, at Athol, Mass. And was married at Yorkshire, N.Y., to Peris F. Miller Feb. 11, 1857. He came to Council Bluffs, March 27, 1867, and engaged in the restaurant business for a time. During the 70's he held several offices, among which were city marshal, chief of police and justice of the peace. His first wife died May 25, 1893. and he was married to Carrie M. Clark, Oct. 3, 1894.
Of late years he has been engaged in the real estate business.
His wife and 2 sons, Charles H. of this city and Fred O. of Rochester, N.Y. survive him.
