DEATH OF HENRY D. WILLIAMS
Henry D. Williams died at his home in West Florence at three o'clock last Saturday Morning. The deceased had been in poor health for several years, in fact ever since a serious injury received, when a section of seats collapsed at the Welsh White sparring contest in Colorado Springs some years ago. A man however, of great physical strength and perfect health, he survived an injury which would have been fatal to many a younger man. However, he recently developed pneumonia and it was impossible to relieve the congestion of his lungs.
....The deceased was a native of Wales, but came to this country when quite young. He was united in marriage to Miss Esther Miller on November the 26th, 1872, and there are five children now living as the result of this union, William Williams of Barton, Ohio, once Mayor of Coal Creek, where he lived for many hears; John Williams of Colorado Springs, Louis Williams, of West Virginia, and Mrs. E. H. Canfield and Mrs. A. J. Gillespie of this city.
....Mr. Williams and his family moved to Florence from Coal Creek about fifteen years ago.
....The funeral occurred from the Deibert Undertaking Parlors Wednesday afternoon. Reverend James R. Burchfield preached the funeral sermon and Past Chiefs C. W. Nash, David Arthur, and R. W. Owens, and members Reese Arthur, Thomas Davis and Thomas Bodycomb, of Grand Canon Castle No. 5 Knights of the Golden Eagle acted as pall bearers.
....The deceased was a member of Grand Canon Castle No. 5 Knights of the Golden Eagle of Rockvale. He had been a member of the local lodge of Elks but let his membership lapse some time ago.
....All of the relatives were in attendance except the son Will who is at Barton, Ohio. Several messages were sent to him but for some unknown reason no reply was received.
