Leona Abner died at Dallas

Leona Hattie Abner, 71, of Farmers Branch, Tex., died Monday at Dallas, Texas. A former resident of Mountain Home, she had resided at Farmers Branch for 10 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Born Dec. 23, 1909 at Clarkridge, she was the daughter of Almeda Walton Stone and William Stone. She was married to the late Roy Everett Abner, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Ray T. Abner of Dallas; one daughter Arvilla Barrett of Palm Springs, Calif.; three brothers, Wesley Stone of Cotter, and Calvin Stone and Corbia Stone, both of Flippin; eight sisters, Isabell Denny of Mountain Home, Fay Lamb of Gassville, Ethel Thayer of Cotter, Ola Clayton and Hazel Lewis, both of Howard's Ridge, Mo.; Yutha Morris of Lakeview, Sadie Lankford of Siloam Springs, and Mary Trivitt of Fordland, Mo.; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday) at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bob Kizer officiating. Interment was in Baxter Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Arnold Knight, Jack Gregory, Larry Morris, Wayne Morris, Bill Sanders and Tommy Sanders.
