Nancy was the ninth child of Harry James Fenner and Laura Julia Barton. She was born on May 7, 1936 in Worcester and lived there for her whole life. Nancy enjoyed playing cribbage, despite severe, lifelong vision problems. Unfortunately, Nancy lost her mother on her 22nd birthday.

She married Robert Theinel and had two children, a son, Robert Thienel, Jr and a daughter, Laura J. Theinel. She and her husband were separated at the time of her death on November 5, 1995. He was living in Tonopah, AZ.
