MARY LOUISE BURRIS

Services for Mary Louise Burris, 75, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Missionary Baptist Church in Buffalo with James Dougherty and Johnny Veretto officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo. Miss Burris died Tuesday at Memorial Mother Frances Hospital in Palestine. She was born in Carter, Okla., on June 29, 1921, to William Frank and Lucy Casey Burris. She had been living in Dogwood Trails Nursing Home since February, 1995. In 1966, she moved to Buffalo from Mexia State School to live with Ms. Fred (Delia) Danford. Then she lived with Layton and Gertrude Waters until their deaths. She stayed a short time with Mrs. Myrtle Pate. Miss Burris was a caretaker and had many friends. She is survived by a sister, Frances Solomon of San Bernardino, Calif. Extended family members are Jerry Waters of Buffalo and Yvonne Waters Woodward of Palestine. Pallbearers will be Jerry Waters, Ken Woodard, Dugan Woodard, Wilbur Barnett, Sonny Lathrop and Daniel Waters. Condolence calls will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Buffalo. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Missionary Baptist Church.
