Wilma Zunker

95, formerly of 905 S. 10th Avenue, Wausau died Friday, May 5, 2006 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House.

She was born November 12, 1910 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Otto and Helen (Schroeder) Winkert. On June 16, 1934 she married Herman Zunker at Rib Falls Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1994.

Wilma was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and visiting with her friends and family.

Survivors include her two sons, Herm (Joanne) Zunker, Merrill and Jim (Barb) Zunker, Athens, four grandchildren, Mark (Lynette) Zunker, California, Brian (Lisa) Zunker, Tripoli, Jay (Jenny) Zunker, Athens and Beth (Larry) Steidel, Wausau, three great grandchildren, Greg, Tim and Tanner Zunker, one sister, Wanda Reiche, Wausau along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wolga Dirks and Wera Rusch and one grandson, Kurt Zunker.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Dennis Pegorsch will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to Aspirus Hospice House.
