MUNCIE - Marilyn LaVaughn (Johnson) Ballou, 74, Muncie, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, in The Waters Nursing Home in Muncie.
She was born May 21, 1933, in Lawrence County, Ill., the daughter of Oscar Rea and Aletha (Parker) Johnson.
She attended elementary schools in rural Lawrence County and graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1951 and was employed for several years at Golden Rule Insurance Company.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cindy Allee of Flat Rock, Ill.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Terry Benge of Plainfield, Keith and Michelle Allee of Greenwood, Teresa and Brent Barnes of Lawrenceville; and four great-grandchildren, Blaine and Reid Barnes, Nathan and Jordan Benge; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson of Rohnert Park, Calif.; several cousins, nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jerry Stevens of Muncie.
She was preceded in death by two spouses, Palmer "Mug" Allee and Steve Ballou; her parents; six brothers, Forest, Junior, John, Clint, Paul and Randy Johnson; two sisters, Esther Stevens and Maxine Johnson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at Meeks Mortuary, 415 E. Washington St. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. CDT Thursday in Price Cemetery in Russellville, Ill.
