He was born January 26, 1953 in Palestine, IL, the son of Palmer E. Allee & Marilyn Johnson Ballou.
He was a 1971 graduate of Lawrenceville High School and went on to attend Wabash Valley College. He worked for Marathon Oil Company for 30 years before retiring in 2004. Away from Marathon, he could often be found tending to the farm. His love of farming culture led him to restoring old tractors and collecting IH-Farmall memorabilia. More than anything, he simply enjoyed spending time with his family.
He married Lucinda Beckes on August 11, 1972, and she survives.
He is also survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Michelle Allee (Greenwood, IN); by his daughters & sons-in-law, Stacey & Terry Benge (Flanagan, IL) and Teresa & Brent Barnes (Lawrenceville, IL); and by his grandchildren, Nathan, Jordan, Blaine, Reid, Mari, and Marlaina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, IL. Services will immediately follow, and will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. His son-in-law, Terry Benge will officiate the service. His cremated remains will then be spread on his farm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “Salem4Youth”, a premier, biblically-based organization that excels at mentoring and supporting youth and families in crisis. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
