Jennings Ingram Chandler Jr was born in Pleasant Grove twp., Alamance Co., Burlington, North Carolina,USA on Wednesday, Oct 3, 1928. He was welcomed into the world by his parents Jennings Ingram Chandler Sr and Verna 'Vernie' Mae Hadley Chandler and two big sisters, Doris Mae and Florine Margaret. In 1946, when he was 18, he did his duty and registered for the World War II Draft.
He lived with his parents until 1949 when he moved to Chapel Hill, Orange Co., NC where he entered college at UNC University. He was an honor student and a member of Delta Sigma Pi Sorority.
On Friday, October 5, 1951, He returned to Alamance county and married Irene Oliver, daughter of Onzo M Oliver and Eva Mae Oliver... they then returned to Chapel Hill to make their home until he had finished his 4 years of college.
Jennings was a farmer of Agricultural production and livestock in Alamance Co.
On Wednesday, January 13, 1999, in Duke University Medical Center, Durham, Durham, North Carolina, Jennings passed away. He was interred at his home church cemetery, Long's Chapel United Church of Christ cemetery in Burlington, Alamance, North Carolina.
