Ruth (Bailey) Hanson
Gildford - Ruth E. (Bailey) Hanson, 84, a former Gildford resident, died of natural causes Monday in Shoreline, Wash.
Her funeral is 2 p.m. Monday at Gildford Baptist Church, with burial in Gildford Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the church.
She was born July 22, 1916, in Tacoma, Wash., and grew up in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, graduating from high school there in 1934.
She married Orville C. Hanson on July 12, 1936, in Coeur d'Alene. They moved to Gildford and lived there until he retired from the post office in 1969. She worked for the Gildford Hotel from 1949 to 1969 and was a postal clerk during the 1950s. They spent winters in Arizona until 1989, then moved to Lynnwood.
She was a member of Gildford Baptist Church, where she played piano and organ for church services, weddings and funerals for many years.
She enjoyed sending cards, singing, walking and foot reflexology.
Survivors include her husband of Lynnwood two daughters, Shane Arlene Jacobs and Bonnie R. Hanson of Lynnwood two sisters, Margaret Weese of Coeur d'Alene and Rachel Hanson of Mesa, Ariz. a brother, David Bailey of Santa Ana, Calif. three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A son, Dwight Orville Hanson, died at birth.
