Russell F. Robbins, 72, of Canton, IL., died at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. IL He was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Glasford. IL., to Russell Glenn and Inez Purchase Robbins.
Surviving are two sons, John and Rustan, both of Canton; two stepsons, Charles Thomas of Canton and Terry Waughtel of Smithfield, IL; one daughter, Connie Rogers of Canton; three stepdaughters, Dayna Klingbail of Chicago, IL., Medesta Pigg of Smithfield and Diane Burhams of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by one grandson and two sisters.

An Army veteran, Russell served in the military police. He worked at LeTourneauWestinghouse in Peoria and later for the Peabody and Buckhart Mine in Fulton County, IL. He retired from Steamfitters Local 353.
Russell was a member of a Masonic Lodge 748 in Peoria and a former member of Moose Lodge 784.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. April 29, 2002 at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
